What is Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day?
On Friday 14 December millions of people all across the country will get together in their fave festive knits and donate £2 (£1 if you’re at nursery, school or a youth group) to help children in the UK and around the world to make their mark.
When is it?
Christmas Jumper Day 2018 is on Friday 14 December. If this day doesn’t work for you – don’t worry! You can take part whenever suits you best.
Can I do it at another time?
Yes! We encourage as many people as possible to join us on Friday 14 December, but if you can’t make this date please pop on your pullovers at a time of your choosing.
Who can take part?
Everyone! Last year we had more than 4 million people pledge to take part – that’s a lot of Christmas jumpers! Whether you’re at work, at school, with a group of family or friends or even enjoying some ‘me’ time – get out your festive knits, donate and help us transform children’s lives.
Our website is open now for schools, workplaces and groups of family and friends to sign-up.
Do I need to be in a group?
No! Christmas Jumper Day is for everyone. Whether you’re on your own or with a group, don’t miss out on this woolly wonderful day. Make sure to flash a smile to other woolly-wearers when you see them and download our sponsorship form so people can sponsor your sweater.
How do I sign up?
Registration is now open so sign up today and we’ll send you out a free fundraising pack at the beginning of November.
Do I have to buy a jumper?
No way! We’ve seen a lot of jumpers through the years and some of the best ones are homemade. Whether you buy one, borrow one, decorate one or even knit one yourself you’ll be all set to have a woolly wonderful day. Once you register you’ll be sent a fundraising pack with lots of ideas to help you customise your jumpers.
Can I raise more money than than £2?
Absolutely – we’re always totally inspired by the silly stuff people get up to in their jumpers to raise money to help change children’s lives. So whether it’s something daring, delicious or just plain daft – get creative and get fundraising. Once you sign up we’ll make sure you get a fundraising pack with lots of tools and ideas to get you started.
How do I pay in my money?
If you want to pay-in online you can do so by following this link:
Call our team at Jumper HQ on 020 7012 6400 to pay-in over the phone.
Or send a cheque to us at Jumper HQ.
What is a team text code?
If you’re registering at work or home you can set up a team text code when you register which will appear in your confirmation email. You can email us to find out how much your team has raised. Anyone who sends your team text code to 70050 will add another £2 to your team’s Christmas Jumper Day donations.
Please note texts will be billed at £2 plus your standard rate text. 100% of your donation will go to Save the Children.
Can I get extra fundraising materials?
Not enough stickers or need an extra collection box? Just let us know if you need something else sent out. You can email email us or call Jumper HQ on 0808 281 1031.
How will the money I raise help?
The money you raise by wearing a ridiculous woolly and donating to Save the Children will help the world’s forgotten children look forward to a brighter future. Find out more about how your money could help.

When do I have to pay in my fundraising by?
There’s no official deadline, but please do try to get these to us as soon as possible. The sooner we get it, the sooner we can put it to good use!
